As part of celebrating the month of May as Aging Life Care Month, we would like to help educate our visitors on what it is that Aging Life Care Professionals, also known as Geriatric Care Managers, do to help aging persons and their involved family members to plan for care and solve aging challenges.
Laurie has dedicated over 20 years of her life to the healthcare industry. After experiencing firsthand the challenges of caring for her mother who was fighting stage four brain cancer, Laurie was inspired to assist families to navigate the challenges of aging. Her passion led to the creation of Senior’s Choice Care Management, where she supports families and their loved ones through difficult times.
As the population ages, the need for care management has increased. Aging can bring a slew of challenges including chronic medical conditions, cognitive and memory impairment, and the need for long-term care. Families who find themselves in this situation often feel overwhelmed, alone, and unsure of where to turn. Care management provides support to face these challenges and find the appropriate resources and services to lighten the load. Laurie understands the difficulties of aging and works tirelessly to ensure her clients receive the best care possible.
One of the primary benefits of working with Senior’s Choice Care Management is the extensive knowledge and experience that Laurie, and her multi-disciplinary team, brings to the table. With a background in nursing and radiologic technology, Laurie has the expertise needed to address a variety of medical concerns. One of the greatest challenges facing aging individuals and their families is navigating the complex healthcare system. She is easily able to review records, navigate insurance, and is a valuable liaison with medical and mental health practitioners, ensuring that everyone is informed and on the same page. She and her team also manage care with client visits, coordinate home care aides and transportation needs, always advocating for her clients’ best interests. She is highly trusted within our community as a valuable resource.
Another benefit of care management is the personalized approach taken with each client. Laurie works closely with her clients and their families to understand their unique situations. She creates customized care plans that are tailored to their individual needs. Aging can be complex and requires an individualized approach. Her commitment to personalized care has made her a beloved figure in the lives of her patients and their families.
Senior’s Choice Care Management represents a lifeline for families in need. It is through Laurie’s tireless dedication and passion for her clients that Senior’s Choice has become a valued resource for families. Laurie and her team offer compassionate care that is tailored to each client’s needs and takes the stress out of an overwhelming situation.
