Laurie Miraglia, RN CCM
Owner Laurie Miraglia’s passion has always been to help people. She has worked in health care for over 20 years with degrees in nursing and radiologic technology. Laurie became interested in Geriatric Care Management when she and her family had a life-changing experience. Her mother Angela, her best friend, was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer at 64 years old.
The The oncologist gave her a life expectancy of 4-6 months. Through the heart-wrenching months, Laurie and her family were faced with many decisions and had many questions. They felt overwhelmed and frustrated. Laurie’s family relied on her medical expertise to consult with physicians, manage her care, coordinate her home care needs and oversee the medical issues at hand.
Laurie was thankful that she was a nurse and had experience in many facets of health care. This was an eye-opening experience. She often wondered how individuals would get through such a crisis without the knowledge needed to care for their loved one. Where would people turn when their loved one was faced with the challenges of aging? Who would advocate for them? How would they know where to begin? How would they know what would be the best for their loved one? The list goes on and on.
Laurie knew that she could make a difference in people’s lives as she assists families and their loved ones when faced with the challenges that come along with aging. Thus, the birth of Senior’s Choice Care Management. Since then Laurie has been dedicated to make a difference in the lives of her patients, paving the way so they don’t feel so alone and overwhelmed.
